Shiv is a character in Hinduism and is considered to be the first Avatar or the life-like principle of a human being. The character is often depicted in Hindu religious texts and art as a young man with many qualities that are associated with a god. He is the son of the goddess Parvati and the Hindu god Shiva and is the main character in the Hindu epic poem, “The Story of Shiv.”
