Exciting motorcycle game for mobile phones
Moto X Mayhem is a challenging, side-scrolling motorcross game which will test your powers of balance and maneuvering.
Your mission in Moto X Mayhem is to ride your bike through a series of rough, cross country courses in order to progress through the game. Staying on your bike is very demanding and it will take all your powers of concentration to get from one side of each stage to the other.
Playing Moto X Mayhem is based around two competing control systems. Acceleration and braking is done by holding down the right and left sides of the screen, respectively. Then, you need to balance, leaning forward by tilting your phone to the right, and backwards by tilting to the left.
At first, these controls make Moto X Mayhem very daunting and hard to get into. But you soon realize that this challenge is part of the fun of the game. Whizzing down a steep slope without toppling forwards, or landing an insane jump gives you so much satisfaction that you want to keep playing Moto X Mayhem and honing your skills.
An interesting thing about Moto X Mayhem is that you never actually run out of lives. The counter works the other way, showing you how many attempts it’s taken you so far (i.e. how many times you fell off).
Graphically, Moto X Mayhem is crisp and well illustrated, although it’s not as realistic as its 3D counterparts. The sound effects are neat, although there’s no music in the game.
If you enjoy motorcycle games, Moto X Mayhem is one that you’ll be playing for a long time – as long as you have the patience to master the control system.
