Pull as many stunts as you can in this BMX game

BMX Rider is a popular bike game for Android, which is unfortunately flawed for several reasons.

The idea of BMX Rider is to cycle backwards and forwards along a course, performing jumps and tricks on the ramps that line the side-scrolling environment. There are two game modes in BMX Rider: Compete, where you have a time limit; and Free, where you can keep going for as long as you like.

You probably won’t get much playing out of BMX Rider, since you’ll most likely get bored of it within a few minutes. There are only a small range of tricks you can pull, and it’s not that exciting even when you put together combos.

One of the reasons why BMX Rider lacks excitement is its primitive graphics and poor physics. The bike and rider and way too small, the music is boring, and the course (of which there’s only one) is drab and uninspiring (though the background design is good). The motion capture of the bike in BMX Rider is incomplete, meaning that landings are unrealistic and there are no sensational tumbles when a trick goes badly wrong.

The controls in BMX Rider and fiddly and unresponsive, and you’ll get frustrated with them very quickly.

If you want to have fun on a bike on your Android phone then we’d recommend Moto X Mayhem instead. Unlike Bike Rider it boasts realistic physics, and chunkier, more vibrant graphics. The varied courses and challenges in Moto X Mayhem make it much more fun to play .

Steer clear of BMX Rider unless you’re a big fan of mundane cycling games.
