Free Windows Desktop Central Tools includes four tools for a variety of management The first is a “Wake on LAN Tool” which allows you to boot computers on a LAN network remotely.

It allows the administrators to boot multiple computers simultaneously with just the IP Address, MAC Address and the Subnet Mask of the computers. The “GPO Update Tool” allows you to perform a GPO Update over several computers. By default, the GPO updates happen periodically, i,e. every 90 minutes but this gives administrators more control over the process. The “Shutdown / Restart Tool” allows you to shutdown or restart several computers on the same network. Finally, the “Software Inventory Tool” retrieves details of the software installed on several networked computers including Software Name, Version, Manufacturer and Usage statistics.

For the average home user, this program won’t be of much use but for those managing a network, it’s a simple but effective management tool.
