Spooky and fluffy visual novel

First Kiss at a Spooky Soiree is a free visual novel created by indie developer Nami for Yuri Jam 2016. In this game, you will play as a light witch named Marzipan, who has gone all her life without kissing anyone—that is, until the night of the soiree. Now, she has eight other characters that she can kiss and build a romantic relationship with. First Kiss at a Spooky Soiree is a short romantic dating simulation game with LGBT contents.

End it with a kiss

The game started with Marzipan coming to a soiree. Here, she will meet one of eight other characters. As with other games of the same genre, the choices she makes will greatly affect the flow of the game—and the first choice she has to make is whom to talk to at the gathering. The goal is to kiss the person you choose at the beginning of the game before the party ends.

There may be eight characters available in the game, but there will be ten endings all in all. Again, who you end up and how your night ends depends on your choices. Don’t worry, though. Most of the choices will get you to your first kiss. In fact, no choice can screw up your hookup—aside from the one at the beginning where you quit, that is.

First Kiss at a Spooky Soiree is a bubbly game. The art style is also cute, despite having Halloween-themed characters. Moreover, each of the storylines is filled with lots of fluff. However, as noted, this game is very short that you can get to the ending in a few minutes. There is also little to no hindrances for you to get the kiss at the end. What gives this game replay value is the fact that there are other characters that you can bond with.

Short and fluffy

First Kiss at a Spooky Soiree is a sweet casual game. From the art style to the writing, everything in this game screams fluff. The characters are varied, all of which are adorable and fit perfectly with the main protagonist. However, there isn’t much to do in the game. The endings are already set, so you are basically just reading how the game will progress. Also, each storyline is short that you can explore all stories in one sitting.
