Sailing adventure game across the ocean

Make Sail is a premium adventure game made by developer Popcannibal. It is a third-person simulation title wherein players will build a boat and use it to sail through the ocean. More materials and customization options are available to help them reach further and discover new locations.

Similar to Raft or Subnautica, Make Sail also features some survival elements in addition to its open-world exploration and crafting mechanics in its gameplay. Players will come face-to-face with dangerous creatures and situations, and they will have to do what they can to survive every ordeal.

A grand but perilous voyage

In Make Sail, you will essentially set for the ocean to explore its wonders and see how far you can reach. You’ll start off small with a basic starter boat using what’s available on hand, which will be enough to get you started on your journey. As you progress, you’ll get to discover and collect new build materials to upgrade your humble ship for the journey ahead.

The various locations are procedurally generated and were designed in a way that no two playthroughs will be exactly the same. What’s more, you will encounter various sea creatures that will stand in your way or pose a threat to your safety. It will be your call whether you will risk it and outmaneuver them to get to where you want or simply avoid any confrontation altogether.

One of the best features of the game is the sheer flexibility and openness in approaching how you build up your ship. You can decide how wide or how tall you want your vessel to become—it’s all up to you. Just be aware that it is still in early access as of now. This can be attributed to the game’s current lack of content.

Surviving the waters

If you’re looking for a new survival game to try out, Make Sail is worthy of consideration. Its aquatic theme paired with open-world exploration and flexible building mechanics make for an immersive and engaging experience. There is still work to be done and more content to be added, but it’s already a solid game as it stands. Give this one a chance.
