USB VENDEV Database – A Handy Tool for USB Device Drivers
The USB VENDEV Database, developed by Alexandros Schillings, is a free Android application that provides a comprehensive database of USB Vendor/Device IDs (VEN/DEV), also known as Vendor/Product IDs (VID/PID). This database can be used to identify an unknown device or find out which drivers you need to install to get a USB device running based on the VEN/DEV strings that the OS reports.
The application’s database is locally stored on the SD card and can be updated online by pressing “Menu->Update DB.” The developer updates the database weekly, and users can do a wildcard search using the “%” character. This is a handy tool for anyone who frequently works with USB devices and needs to quickly identify and install the necessary drivers.
The application is ad-free, and the developer encourages users to email them with any bugs, problems, or feature requests. However, they cannot reply to market comments, which may make debugging difficult.
