Enhance your CC: Generals experience
Rise of the Reds: HanPatch Mod is a free mod by the HanPatch Developers for C&C: Generals Zero Hour, an expansion of the military strategy game Command & Conquer: Generals. Unlike Command & Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour ShockWave Mod, this utility is more focused on fixing bugs although it also adds quality of life changes.
Rise of the Reds: HanPatch Mod was originally developed as a simple bug fix for Rise of the Reds mod for C&C: Generals Zero Hour, but it eventually evolved as a full-fledged add-on. It introduces new character models, hundreds of bug fixes, and new mechanics.
What does it add?
Rise of the Reds is an entirely separate mod for Command & Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour that improves the base game’s formula while also adding new elements. It introduces two new factions while also expanding and redesigning the existing factions to further enhance the gameplay experience. Rise of the Reds: HanPatch Mod was originally meant to fix the mod’s problems but it has since become an add-on of its own.
Among the new mechanics that his mod adds is allowing GLA players who have researched or collected advanced or Tier 2 ECA salvage to buy the Recycler salvage of the factions they are playing against. This provides consistent and alternative access to salvaged tech — a small change that improves the gameplay experience significantly. For USA, the previously manually-activated ability has been replaced by a completely automated emergency power system.
This mod adds new character models for veteran units so players can distinguish them from base units easier. Moreover, it adds unique visual variants for all Chinese vehicles that can are affected by Optimised Production. These vehicles include the Battlemaster, Hopper, Inferno Cannon, Troop Crawler, and others. If you want to install this mod, do note that it requires the Rise of the Reds mod.
Is it worth it?
If you use the Rise of the Reds mod, absolutely. Rise of the Reds: HanPatch Mod does nothing but improve the mod and the base game through subtle changes and additions that don’t alter the core mechanics too much. However, if you only want its optimizations, you will have no choice but to install the Rise of Reds mod, too, since it won’t work without it.
