Gruesome psychological horror game

Scarred is a free psychological puzzle game inspired by classic horror games,  Silent Hill and Fatal Frame. It is a deeply narrative-driven game that revolves around domestic disturbance. It follows the story of a girl named Lori Samedi as she explores the hell-scape that used to be her home. In the game, you will play the police officer, named Clay Begrav, who will investigate what happened in the Samedi residence. Prepare your heart to see eerie hand-drawn animation that can give off a disturbing impression. Scarred will have you embark in a horror-filled adventure as you seek for evidence and find answers.

Explore Samedi’s strange household

The whole game of Scarred follows the four main characters, namely Lorelai Samedi, the daughter, Baron Samedi, the father,  Morrigan Samedi, the mother, and Clay Begrav, the investigating cop officer. But, it mainly focuses on Clay and Lori since they play bigger roles in uncovering the truth about the Samedi’s house. Players will take on the role of officer Clay and manipulate Lori’s surroundings to figure out what caused them to be in the netherworld state.

Scarred is built with Unity 3D. It requires very little resources and works with most computers. And though it has a short runtime, it is a good game to kill time. It features a good combination of horror, puzzles, narrative, and thrill of deeply learning about the family. Not to mention that challenge of investigation. However, the start of the game may be a bit of a bore. It takes a while before the game builds up as the beginning of the game highly focuses on Clay’s inspection of the house.

Scarred is a unique game genre that contains a high-quality game art design and intriguing game plot. It gets your brain juices flowing as you try to connect each of the characters to understand what happened before the investigation started.  However, the end somewhat feels a little anti-climactic. Nevertheless, it is still highly recommended for those who are looking for a thrilling horror game.
