999 BSL is a free Android app developed by Sorenson Communications Inc. that provides an on-demand remote service by fully qualified and registered British Sign Language interpreters. The app is specifically designed for British Sign Language (BSL) users to make emergency calls only. With just one click, users can connect to a BSL interpreter working remotely who will relay the conversation between deaf and hearing parties in real-time. Additionally, the app enables a call-back option, allowing emergency authorities to call the BSL user directly and connect them to a BSL interpreter in seconds. Deaf people can receive push notifications to signal incoming calls.
