The Third Great Game in the Zenonia Series
Zenonia 3: The Midgard Story is an action role-playing game created, developed, and published by Gamevil. The third installment in the Zenonia series and the direct sequel to Zenonia 2, this game will give you new and exciting missions and unique maps. Play real-time combat and exploration without limitations and hunger.
Two Great Successes
The first Zenonia game revolved around the protagonist named Regret and his quest to find the truth about his past. A young man whose origins are initially unknown, his primary mission in the game is to find the reason for the death of his adoptive father, Pardon, at the hands of a demon and subsequently, a more powerful evil that is at work. This antagonist is the main villain for most of the subsequent games, such as in Zenonia 2. The protagonists of Zenonia 2: The Lost Memories, on the other hand, are four different characters with different job classes. Their own quest is to find four magical gems in exchange for their goals to be achieved.
All Zenonia games feature real-time combat and exploration. Aside from the main questline, you can do the usual side quests found in action RPGs and can choose from one of the numerous available classes in each game. As the series progressed, PvP mechanics were eventually introduced, and even the option to fight against NPCs and AI-controlled enemies in dungeons have become one of the highlights of the Zenonia series.
Like Father, Like Son
This time in Zenonia 3, you play as Chael, Regret’s adopted son. His adventure begins when he and his fairy companion Runa get accidentally sent to another dimension called Midgard. They try to find their way home and eventually get accompanied by a girl from the Divine Tribe named Celine, who looks very similar to a close friend of Chael’s back on his world. You will have to guide Chael through this fateful journey in search of his own destiny, and the truth about his mysterious father.
The vast realm of Midgard spans well over 200 maps and a hundred quests, from fiery depths to the open skies populated by creatures and legendary monsters. There are four distinct new classes that you can choose for the protagonist. There are the Sword Knight and the Shadow Hunter which are both melee-type characters and the Mechanic Launcher and the Nature Shaman which use ranged weapons in combat.
Zenonia 3 introduces a new Fairy Helper system that adds another layer of leveling strategy. Unlike the first two games, there’s no more weight and hunger systems, so you can focus more on the action happening on the screen. A new Execution Room Mode allows you to do Single or Asynchronous Co-op play for loot, in addition to the returning online PvP arena. It’s a Colosseum-style tournament against in-game monsters, and you can choose to battle the monsters alone or use your device to control your friend’s character and face the challenge with an NPC by your side.
Third Time’s The Charm
Like its predecessors, Zenonia 3 is lauded for its artwork and engaging combat. Despite the new characters involved, it still succeeds in being an appropriate sequel to the first two and is a title worth playing by RPG fans. If you loved Zenonia or Zenonia 2, this one is a must-try.
