Semi-futuristic mod for Battlefield 2
ZCF Demo Edited Mod is a free-to-use game utility developed for the Battlefield 2 video game. This action add-on makes improvements on another mod, the Zone of Continuous Fire (ZCF) mod. It adds new content and features, fixes a couple of bugs from the original game, and improves the AI behavior involved. However, this demo version of a mod has its own set of bugs and issues.
If you’re looking for additional content for your next Battlefield game, ZCF Demo Edited Mod is a great place to start. You can also check out the US Intervention Mod.
A breath of fresh air
The ZCF Demo Edited Mod is a great addition to any Battlefield 2 game as it offers a lot of new and custom content. Most of which, same as the original ZCF add-on, focuses on being at the forefront of technology. From modern armored tanks and aircraft to extremely powerful weapons, they all fit into that particular thematic concept that gives everything a sense of coherence and identity.
It also makes modifications to the original mod. For example, there are texture and layout balances applied to the Zatar Wetlands on top of all-new original stages. Even better, there are original music and sound effects not available in the vanilla version. There are also small changes in the gameplay that makes it more realistic. Players can now sleep on APCs and helicopters.
However, it has a couple of bugs that could use a bit more work. While the bots are more realistic without the ability to accurately shoot from smokescreens, there remains a couple of erratic behaviors from AI characters. There are instances where bot characters go around doing a certain series of actions over and over. However, these are rare and intermittent, keeping the mod largely playable.
Massive, yet enjoyable
ZCF Demo Edited Mod is one of those mods you’ll definitely enjoy. What sets it apart is that while it has a large amount of content–from weapons, characters, maps, to game modifications–everything can be traced back to the idea of bringing the future of warfare to the vanilla version. The only setback, however minor, is a couple of AI behaviors. Still, it’s a good mod.
