3D first-person escape room horror game

Your Toy is a first-person escape room game created by Viva Games. In this game, you find yourself trapped inside a restroom. To escape, you will have to investigate your surroundings and solve the puzzles. However, your childhood toy, a bear you ripped and thrown away years ago, has come back to exact revenge.

There are various puzzles to solve here in Your Toy. Every time you solve one, a new one will crop out to put your brain under more pressure. Moreover, the bear will sometimes show up and chase you. However, the gameplay is woefully short and unpolished.

What is the game about?

Your Toy is a horror game that traps you inside a restroom. However, it does not use the overused and cliche style of trapping you with a sinister creature. Instead, it places you in a situation in which a teddy bear you left behind during your childhood has come back for revenge. As you try to solve the mystery of your situation, your toy will come and haunt you.

The game offers a mixed concept of escape room-style puzzles and atmospheric horror. The mechanics are simple as it only entails solving the puzzles by interacting with the objects that serve as clues. However, as soon as you solve one, a new mystery will crop up. Not to mention the teddy bear will sometimes appear and chase you. Catching you can mean instant death or completing a basic time event.

Although, as it is an indie game, users must note that it comes with short gameplay. If you are a first-time player, you may spend hours completing the campaign. However, once you get the hang of it, you can run through it in over 30 minutes. That is not enough for its price. Moreover, the visuals, while passable, are buggy. Voice-acting is also essentially non-existent.

Should you play it?

Overall, Your Toy is one of those games that, once you start playing, you have to complete to prove that you can do it. It offers a basic escape room concept mixed with atmospheric horror elements. Add in a horrific-looking teddy bear to give you chase then you have a unique offering. However, it is rather short and unpolished. Chances are, you won’t return to it after your first try.
