Rip DVDs to almost any format
There are virtually no limits to the formats you can rip DVDs to nowadays, and Xilisoft DVD Ripper Ultimateproves that almost anything is possible.
Xilisoft DVD Ripper Ultimate is an extended version of Xilisoft DVD Ripper and is an elegant and extremely easy-to-use DVD Ripper that will convert your DVDs so you can watch them in almost any other format. These formats include AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, RM, MOV, 3GP, 3GP2, MP4, MP4 AVC, FLV, and more. This means, for example, that watching films on your iPod, iPhone or PSP has never been easier.
As soon as you open Xilisoft DVD Ripper the main interface makes it clear in three steps how to convert your DVD. Enter your DVD and close down DVD Player if it starts automatically. Choose the format you’d like to convert to from one of the many preset profiles. Then browse to the DVD, open the folder contents, and let Xilisoft DVD Ripper do the rest.
The many different profiles are one of the standout features of this ripper, allowing you to see clearly which formats are available and removing the need for any complex configuration. Once you’ve browsed to the DVD, it will automatically open the contents that are necessary to rip, i.e. the video files and ignore the rest. If you want, you can set the video size, image quality and audio quality.
In addition, a big bonus is that you can isolate and trim specific parts of the video that you want to convert. A preview pane in the bottom right hand corner allows you to cue the video up to the point where you want to start ripping from and set in and out points. Alternatively, you can customize the ripping process by only ripping those chapters that you want and ignoring the rest. Finally, Xilisoft DVD Ripper can also add a watermark so that you obtain fully-customized DVD video and audio files.
For elegance and ease of use, Xilisoft DVD Ripper scores top marks. However, it did occasionally seem a little unstable and there was at least one crash, but that isn’t uncommon with ripping apps because it puts a lot of stress on both your Superdrive and processor.
