An easy-to-use Windows installer

WinToHDD is a system utility that allows you to easily install Windows without having to use a disk or a flash drive. Developed by Hasleo Software—formerly known as EasyUEFI Development Team—this program is an all-in-one operating system deployment tool you can use to bypass any disk installations.

Similar to WinSetupFromUSB, WinToHDD is designed for ease of use and to let users decide where to install their OS—although they can’t create some of the space for it. There are three versions of this software: the free one, the premium one for personal use, and the premium one for business use.

What is WinToHDD?

WinToHDD is a straightforward program that’s easy to use for anyone. With it, you can install, reinstall, and even clone your preferred version of Windows directly from a non-disk source. This tool supports Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, and Windows Server, as well—both for 32-bit and 64-bit systems. The installation feature lets you insert the OS onto any disk by using either ISO, WIM (Windows Image Management), or ESD (Electronic Software Download) files.

This means that your copy of Windows can be installed onto any disk aside from your usual drive. You can install any version of this OS from the drive on both BIOS and UEFI computers since this tool is fully compatible with GPT/UEFI and Windows 10 20H2. Additionally, you can reinstall the OS without using any CD, DVD, or flash drive. You can also clone an existing Windows copy to another disk, whether HDD or SSD.

Take note, however, that you cannot create partitions on your own. The most that it will offer is encryption for your data partitions using the BitLocker program—a feature that’s only available in the premium versions. This will at least ensure that your chosen disk space will be safe from data corruption and any other untoward situation. However, it’s a shame that you can’t do some in-depth installation regarding this.

Take your pick

As mentioned, there are three versions available for WinToHDD. The free edition contains all basic features: installation and reinstallation without using a drive, cloning, and creation of a multi-installation USB drive. The cloning speed here is at a normal pace but you should expect that it may lag sometimes depending on your machine’s performance capabilities. On the other hand, there are two premium editions you can choose from to upgrade your free version: Professional and Enterprise.

Both of these are mostly similar. They offer partition encryption, support for 4K sector size disks, free lifetime upgrades, technical support, faster cloning speed, and no upgrade prompts. However, the key differences between the two lie in their coverage. Professional is only for two PCs and is for home use, while Enterprise supports unlimited PCs and issues a business license. Plus, it’s only with Enterprise that you can install Windows Server operating systems.

Control your space

All in all, WinToHDD is a handy program to have if you prefer to choose the disk space you want for Windows. It’s easy to use and supports various platforms for different versions of this particular operating system. It’s only too bad that you can’t create partitions yourself using this tool, as it would make any in-depth installation much easier.
