Make sure your company is ready for Windows 7

Windows 7 Enterprise RTM is no longer available for download.

After releasing Windows 7 RC (which is no longer available for download) Microsoft has now launched a 90-day trial version of Windows 7 Enterprise.

This version of Windows is especially addressed at IT professionals and companies that plan to upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out in October, and want to make sure their current software and hardware are fully compatible with Microsoft’s new operating system.

Windows 7 Enterprise is not that different from the RC version we tried a few weeks ago. It does look a bit more polished in terms of bugfixing and design. In fact, this is actually an RTM (“Release To Manufacturing”) version, which means it’s virtually identical to the final operating system that will hit shelves next month.

Microsoft’s new OS includes a bunch of new features that try to make the computer easier and more enjoyable to use. After a surprisingly quick installation process, Windows 7 Enterprise launches in a very Vista-like environment. But unlike Vista – fortunately – the whole system works very smoothly, without hogging system resources.

Windows 7 Enterprise includes a long list of exciting features: fully revamped versions of Wordpad and Paint; a new toolbar with enhanced functionality; a new tool named Jump List that improves access to recently used documents and apps: the all-new Internet Explorer 8 and Windows Media Player 12; and a generally enhanced user interface that makes Windows easier to use.

With Windows 7 Enterprise RTM you have the chance again to become more familiar with the key improvements and new features included in this new operating system, and make sure your company is ready for the update!
