Calling For Free
Viber is a social and communication application created by Viber Media S.à r.l. The application allows for making free messaging and phone calls on mobile devices. Users can make communications as long as they have a mobile network connection.
Initiating Mobile Communications
Viber offers free messaging as well as making calls with high-quality audio. It utilizes a Voice over Internet Protocol or VoIP instead of the usual Short Message Service or SMS from mobile devices. Users are still required to have a data plan enrolled or a stable Wi-Fi connection in order to communicate with others. The application also allows making low-cost international calls, as well as hosting group chats wherever they are. Users can apply for the Viber Out subscription. The Messaging Feature the standard functions like sending text messages, add personal photos and videos, inserting stickers or GIFs, and even attach files. Viber has its own collection of animated GIFs and stickers where users can purchase their favorite images. Users can also connect with other apps through Chat Extensions. The Call feature enables both standard audio and video calls. It also implements end-to-end encryption to ensure the safety and privacy for callers. Any form of messaging is also sent as an encryption code that only the recipients can read via special encryption key. The encryption key is only unique for the user so nothing is recorded. Everything is ensured to be clear so that users can understand whatever they are telling each other. Hosting a group chat can take up to 250 members, perfect for private discussions. Users can also mention friends, pin messages and reply to messages on group chat. There is also an option to start a Viber Community with admin control for starting a special interest group. This application includes an automatic self-destruct secret chat for anyone interested in sending temporary messages. The message is permanently deleted from the recipient’s message history once they have read it. Some of the other features that users can enjoy with the application are location sharing and contacts exchange.
Making Communication More Fun
Viber steps up on communication for mobile devices. It has free messaging and calls, at the same time adds mobile device functionalities like attachments and extensions. The application can be also used for socializing via group chats and community. A mobile device’s default communication application may have to innovate in order to achieve these features.
