Picture-in-picture video player for PC
uView is a free video streaming program developed by iDruf for PC. It’s a media player specifically designed to allow users to stream videos in picture-in-picture mode. With it, they will be able to watch any online video alongside other applications simultaneously and without occupying their entire screen.
While users may opt to use VLC and configure it to achieve the same effect as picture-in-picture, uView provides a much simpler, out of the box solution that has no complicated setup needed from users. They can simply paste the URL of the online video and start streaming right away.
How do I use uView?
Watching videos in picture-in-picture (PIP) mode is a great way to consume media while you’re doing something else. There are plenty of media players available that do just this, but they often consume a lot of resources and slow down your system. This is where uView comes in. It features a minimal UI, with only a URL box available for you to interact with as you use the program.
uView supports a variety of popular streaming services, including YouTube, Netflix, and even Twitch. Choose one by clicking the up and down arrows of the icon on the left side of the textbox. To add a new video, simply copy the URL address from your browser to the URL box of the player. A floating window will appear with all of the playback controls easily accessible to you.
Lastly, a few neat features that uView has is that it also supports offline media playback and can even play in the background from your system tray. Overall, uView works well and as intended, with the only thing that could be improved upon in the future would be the addition of customization options for the player itself as it currently does not offer any.
Fast and lightweight PIP player
Overall, if you’re the type of user who takes advantage of the picture-in-picture mode in your media player, but you want something faster and lighter on your system resources, give uView a try. It’s simple and straightforward to use, supports plenty of streaming platforms, and just works well. Recommended.

uView is a comprehensive program which allows you to play videos while working with other applications. The software is capable of playing media files from local folders or streaming videos from a variety of hosting websites. This way you can watch your favorite videos while playing games or working.
Optimized window for multi-tasking
uView is a reliable application which enables you to watch videos while working, without the hassle of resizing the video window all the time. The media player features an adjustable window, which you can move to any location on your screen or resize in order to fit your preferences.
The window is set to stay always on top and supports transparency adjustment. Moreover, you can lock the windows size and position, in order to avoid accidental changes.
Additionally, while streaming a video from a hosting website, you can easily acquire general data, such as video URL, the URL at the current time or embed code. All the video options supported by the hosting service are also available when streaming content with uView.
Video streaming and media player tool
uView allows you to stream videos from websites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Azubu, HitBox, Netflix, Youku, Dailymotion or Facebook. You simply need to select the desired domain, then copy the video URL to clipboard. The program can instantly import it and prompt the media player. After closing the video, the program remembers the most recently streamed item.
Alternatively, you can load a media file from a local folder, using the menu at the top of the main window. The supported file formats include MKV, MPEG, WMV, AVI, MP4 for video and MP3 for audio.
Adjustable interface
uView allows you to adjust both the video player window, to the size, location and transparency level of your preference, but also the main window. It features a double interface: the default mode and the minimized window. A dedicated button near the upper edge allows you to quickly switch between the two modes.
