A challenging PvP card game

Urban Cards is a strategy game from Hues Games that mixes elements of roguelike gameplay and deck building. In this card game, you will have to curate a strong-enough deck in order to take down numerous enemies as you try to manage your businesses and earn more money.

In addition to collecting a wide range of cards, you will need to collect special items in Urban Cards that will aid you in your quest for success while also boosting your cards’ abilities. The gameplay is not too unlike titles like HELLCARD and Stacklands.

4 ways to play

Urban Cards places players in a bright and psychedelic world that’s filled with intense business rivalries and cutthroat enemies. With four different factions with their own unique starter decks to choose from, you can experience unique gameplay for each faction you choose. All four campaigns are procedurally generated with over 20 possible events to play through, so you can enjoy numerous hours of gameplay without any repetitiveness.

Players can collect more than 180 unique cards that include businesses, workers, henchmen, items, and even actions you can perform. You’ll have to come up with the best strategies and switch out your cards as needed in order to defeat your opponents. Most notably, you will also have the opportunity to go up against other players in PvP battles, as well.

Something to note, though, is that the game can be quite difficult to play, especially for beginners who do not have enough cards just yet. Certain cards are nearly impossible to defeat unless you have one specific card to counter it, which can leave certain battles feeling unfairly imbalanced from the beginning. Certain rounds against the AI opponent can also be unnecessarily difficult, as well.

Needs extreme grinding

To sum it up, Urban Cards is an entertaining game that you can enjoy in numerous ways, however, you’ll need to grind a lot in order to collect enough cards. These cards are necessary in order to have an equal chance of winning against your opponent—whether it’s another player or a computer. Something you can look forward to, though, is the ability to collect a large number of unique cards.
