Get Onto GroupMe. Send Large Files With A Sleeker Client.
Unite is a GroupMe client that boasts faster speeds and better file transfer abilities than standard GroupMe clients. It doesn’t have every possible feature, as it only uses the GroupMe API and isn’t official.
Joining the group can be difficult
Unite offers a nicely-designed interface. It’s very responsive and it runs well even on older or less powerful devices. It works especially well for sending and receiving files, especially large ones. It does have several rough edges, however: it requires a mobile phone number, and if you enter a landline, it locks the app until it’s fixed. The same is true if the client hasn’t been updated but GroupMe has changed as well, for instance.
A gamble in app form
Unite is a client with some tantalizing features hampered by issues that can come up with it unexpectedly. The developer also offers little support for the app. It’s worth using if you send a lot of images and files to your colleagues, but doing so is a gamble, as your operating system version, GroupMe protocol updates, and other factors can all make it harder to use.
