ThemeGrill Demo Importer is an open-source graphic and design plugin application that allows you to install ThemeGrill demos to your WordPress blog. Developed by ThemeGrill itself, this app pretty much does what its name says: it imports demos. These demos or free trials are offered by ThemeGrill’s available themes and allows you to preview how they would look like for your website. From official themes and theme settings to widgets and required plugins, ThemeGrill Demo Importer helps you save time in choosing the theme you’d like your website to have.

WordPress or WordPress.org is a free and open-source content management system that originally started out as a blog-publishing system available for anyone. WordPress offers tons of themes that you can decorate your website with—whether it’s just a blog or an online presence for a business. However, there are also plugin-centric sites that let you import their own selection of WordPress themes for personal use. One of these is ThemeGrill and it has themes that are specialized for certain websites or blogs that you may have.
It offers themes for businesses, magazines, those with just one page, blogs, and e-commerce. These can be used for free for however long you want but their features are limited, as opposed to their paid premium versions. Nevertheless, it’s to try them out for free and this is where ThemeGrill Demo Importer comes in. You can install this plugin automatically when you install a ThemeGrill theme or by manually installing it yourself.
Once it’s ready, you can use it to search for themes and then start previewing how they look in their free trial version. The Demo Importer will also tell you what prerequisite plugins are needed for the chosen theme. If you want to install the theme, just click “Import.” However, take care to make backups of your website data, as this plugin had a security flaw that got a lot of sites deleted. The issue has since been fixed but it’s best to be prepared.
