Two universes collide in this mod
The X Event – Friday Night Funkin Mod is a free game utility by NyxTheShield. As the name suggests, this is a mod for the popular music game Friday Night Funkin’. It brings new characters that you need to beat. It also adds new songs with custom charts.
Like other FNF mods, The X Event utilizes the same gameplay. However, what makes it unique is that it doesn’t introduce completely new characters. Instead, it brings your favorite characters from the Undertale universe, XChara, Ink!Sans, and X!Gangster. Additionally, it includes a custom RPG overworld and custom charting tools.
What does the new mod offer?
The X Event is an FNF mod unlike any other. As soon as you access it, you will see a peculiar interactive menu that you don’t see in other mods. As mentioned, it also combined two universes by bringing popular characters from the Undertale AUs Underverse and XTale. Still playing as the Boyfriend, you will face XChara, Ink!Sans, and X!Gangster in a musical battle.
There will be three new songs, Overwrite, Inking Mistake, and Relighted. Each music is dedicated to a certain opponent. The curious thing about this mod is that each song comes with custom charts. It divides the three confrontations song into three difficulty levels to match the players’ skills. Note, however, that the charting in this mod is not that good, making the Hard level nearly impossible to complete.
As with other mods, The X Event has the same game mechanics. Using the arrow keys or WASD, players still need to match the arrows shown on the screen as best as they can. However, as mentioned, it includes a custom RPG overworld, making it one of the most creative mods for the game. Not only that, but it also comes with a better sound and visual quality.
Should you play it?
If you are a fan of Friday Night Funkin’, then The X Event will be right up your alley. The mod brings new characters and new songs. It also added new elements to the game, making it more unique compared to the others. It could improve the charting to make it easier for players. Nevertheless, it maintained the challenging and fun music rhythm gameplay that fans have come to love.
