A HellTaker fan game
The Second Circle is a visual novel game developed by Team 133. A fan-made tribute to the indie title, HellTaker, this app will let you date the demons—and an angel—introduced in the original game. You will see all ten devilish demons and the curious angel from the first HellTaker game. However, they will have a new art style and brand new sprites. The Second Circle is in the demo stage, so expect short gameplay.
What the game offers
The Second Circle follows the original HellTaker game. Here, you will play the Taker, who freed the female demon from Hell. This time, you will have the chance to date them and get to know them better. As mentioned, all ten characters are present here in the game, and you can choose which character to date. Each date will take you to a different location.
Unlike the original game, The Second Circle will help you get to know the characters more. Through the dialogues, the game accurately expands each demon’s personality. However, the dialogues are sometimes too long that it is boring to read. Also, there isn’t much to do on your date other than click anywhere on the screen to load yet another dialogue. You will only need to make a choice once or twice in every scenario.
The Second Circle offers detailed visuals. In fact, some of the background art looked too real that they do not complement the characters. More, these backgrounds do not match the HellTaker style and vibe. It felt more like a DDLC background. However, the biggest drawback in the game is its installation. Many users have experienced difficulty launching the game on their devices, even though they have extracted the file upon download.
A good game, if you are a fan
If you are a fan of the HellTaker game, then The Second Circle is a good follow-up to it. This role-playing game extends your interaction with the demons you met in the first title and even lets you know them a bit more. It has a good and detailed—sometimes too detailed—art style that you can expect from visual novels. There isn’t much to do besides reading the script, but that’s what you get from a clicker game.
