Attack people with tentacles
If you’ve played games like Fish Feeding Frenzy before, then you will have a basic idea of how The Nom plays out. There’s a short on-screen tutorial as you begin playing and that’s pretty easy to understand. You have to consume people and unload them back at your base, which you can locate by following the arrow that stays with your alien avatar as it roams.
Different groups of people yield various amounts of coins, and the higher the number, the more difficult it is to catch them. In catching a person, you have to attach your tentacle to them and wait until their health bar drops to zero. You will notice that trying to eat people with higher coin yields takes longer than those with lower coin yields.
Since it’s not easy to consume prey, leveling up is subsequently affected. You need to reach higher levels to unlock more areas, but improvement takes a lot of time. There are upgrades you can purchase to hasten things, like cargo capacity and movement speed, but even with those progress is still arguably slow. Ads tend to pop up now and then, too, disrupting gameplay with the frequency.
