Survival-horror experience
The Hike is a premium game developed by Simionescu Mihnea for thrilling desktop play. As the title suggests, the game will start with a simple and relaxing hike that will turn intensely scary as you investigate a mysterious emergency message that you randomly receive.
Set around the Red River National, you will play as a curious and experienced hiker named John Lake. Your curiosity will bring you to an eerie and frightening situation providing you no other choice but to run for survival. Alternatively, you can try Endnight Games’ The Forest for the same survival game experience like The Hike.
Curiosity can kill you
Long after a riot broke out in the US Army-controlled Red River Mental Hospital, a cryptic emergency notice appears on your TV screen that’s broadcasting through a local Ranger station authority. You’ll then carelessly go hiking and investigate out of curiosity. Once you reach the establishment though, you’ll immediately realize your mistake. Unfortunately, you’ve gone far too long to easily find your way to escape.
Nonetheless, you have no other choice but to run and hide to somehow prolong your life and hopefully go back to society. In order to do that, you must surpass human-turned-monster creatures. However, you’re equipped with no other fighting weapons except for a tiny flashlight giving you a clear view of what’s ahead. The annoying but can also be challenging part is your flashlight can run out of batteries.
Adding to the intense and scary feeling is the realistic graphics that it displays, which feature 4K textures as well as immersive spooky sounds making your heart beat faster. All the puzzles spread around the mental health facility aim to stimulate your critical thinking process forcing you to determine other creative ways to get out of that creepy building alive and well.
Run and solve puzzles to survive
Living up to its action-adventure selling features, The Hike is a survival game experience that will be a shame to skip. If you love resolving puzzles in a terrifying atmosphere then, this can definitely suit your game taste. You have to figure out the mind-bending riddles so you can come back to civilization out of human monsters and live a normal life again.
