Bizarre action roguelike game for PC

The Crackpet Show is a premium action game for PC by developer Vixa Games. It is a 3D roguelike shooter wherein players will control bizarre mutated animals. They will fight to the death for the sake of entertainment, sponsorship deals, and fame for a twisted TV show.

Similar to The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth or Enter the Gungeon, The Crackpet Show offers fast-paced and challenging gameplay and combat that takes inspiration from bullet hell-style games. It features a variety of weapons, items, and perks that allow for all kinds of combinations and load-outs that can be tailored for each run.

Mutant slugfest

In The Crackpet Show, you are basically a participant in a bizarre and deadly TV show. In it, you take control of creepy mutated animals and engage in a bloody battle royale until only one remains standing. Blast hundreds of enemies and survive as you make your way to face various giant bosses toward the end that are capable of easily tearing you to shreds.

In roguelike fashion, the game offers a challenging and unpredictable experience. You can play it solo or co-op with up to four friends. Either way, maps are randomly-generated so no two runs will feel exactly alike. The same goes for the dozens of weapons, power-ups, and items that will drop midgame, and it will be up to you which combination suits your playstyle or the situation best.

You’ll die a lot in the game, but you should always ensure you always give your best performance as it will determine the number of likes you’ll receive from the audience. Use these proof of adoration for upgrades to perks and items for future runs. Do note that it is still in early access, so there are still kinks to iron out and improvements to make.

Bloody good time

If you’re looking for a new action roguelike to try out, The Crackpet Show is an interesting option to consider. Gameplay-wise, it offers a solid experience in line with what you’d expect from titles recently. It’s in the bizarre premise and gory presentation where it manages to stand out from others. It’s brutal, disturbingly entertaining, and just a bloody good time.
