Stay Safe in the Sun with SunSmart
SunSmart is a free lifestyle app designed by Cancer Council Victoria to help people stay safe in the sun. This app provides you with sun protection times each day using forecast information from the Bureau of Meteorology and live UV data from the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency.
It is important to note that the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation causes skin cancer, sunburn, premature ageing and eye damage, not the sun’s heat or light. Unfortunately, we can’t see or feel UV rays, which means we usually don’t know when our skin is being damaged until it’s too late. However, with SunSmart, you can check the app each day or set an alert to know when to slip, slop, slap, seek and slide to reduce your risk of skin cancer.
Please note that the app data is limited to Australia.
