Find sites you’ll like with this great app

StumbleUpon is a great web app, and now you can enjoy this ‘discovery engine’ from your iPhone. If you want to find new websites based on your tastes, StumbleUpon is the app for you.

To use StumbleUpon you need to sign up for a free account, but you can do that in the app and move on straight away to discovering. An account is necessary, as StumbleUpon builds up a database of your likes so it can suggest content to you.

During the StumbleUpon sign-up you can choose interests from an extensive list, anything from beer to astronomy. The main interface has a StumbleUpon button, which will let you discover content including all your tastes. You can also stumble through News, Photos, Flickr and YouTube, again all filtered to your tastes. Finally, you can browse based on any of the subjects you picked.

The StumbleUpon user interface is minimal, and really easy to use. To begin with it feels strange not being in total control of where you’re going, but it’s a great application if you’re happy doing that. What StumbleUpon cannot do is add a button to your normal Safari browser, so you can just use this app to stumble links you happen across.

StumbleUpon is a fantastic app for finding new things, and getting yourself out of an internet site rut!
