VPN that covers the basics
StrongVPN is a VPN service that lets you securely connect to international servers. Strong VPN uses the highest encryption practices to make sure that your personal information is kept safe. Over 950 servers in 35 countries and 59 cities are available for you to sync to.
ExpressVPN, IPVanish VPN, NordVPN, Private Internet Access, and SurfShark are among the best VPNs available. IPVanish, Private Internet Access, and StrongVPN are based in the United States, while Express VPN, Nord VPN, and SurfShark are in privacy-friendly locations. The US has a reputation for not respecting user anonymity.
How good is StrongVPN?
While StrongVPN is a good VPN, the service lacks a detailed privacy policy and features. StrongVPN has a zero-logging policy that does not record your online activity and connections. Your log-in credentials and payment information will be stored. Since StrongVPN is situated in the US, your confidential data may be more available to surveillance practices than in other countries.
You will get the AES 256-bit encryption to encrypt your online actions from external parties. Additionally, you can choose from plenty of tunneling protocols. StrongVPN is among the first VPN applications to integrate the WireGuard tunneling protocol into the software. The WireGuard protocol is one of the fastest and most secure protocols available.
IKEv2, IPSec, L2TP, OpenVPN, and SSTP are other VPN protocols available. StrongVPN gives you unlimited bandwidth to browse, send, stream, and torrent content. All of the servers are P2P optimized. A kill switch is available as an added layer of safety.
Does StrongVPN work with Netflix?
Strong VPN may not be the best service for streaming, although you can still unblock Netflix U.S. and Hulu, along with other popular streaming sites. You can connect up to 12 devices to StrongVPN at the same time. A large number of simultaneous connections to the Strong VPN servers may cause the loading speeds to be slow.
Quick speeds are important for users who value streaming and torrenting. The unstructured privacy policy may make torrenters reconsider using StrongVPN. DNS and IP address leak protection are included. StrongVPN has a proprietary DNS: StrongDNS. While your DNS and IP addresses are concealed, StrongVPN does not deliver features related to leak protection.
Is Strong VPN free?
Free VPNs pose privacy risks because your private data is often logged to sell to third parties. Strong VPN is not free or cheap. You can get either the annual or monthly subscription plan. Each of the packages includes the same amount of MB in the cloud-based storage service: SugarSync. The secure storage service will make sure that your stored information is encrypted.
StrongVPN does not offer free trials to let you try the product. The money-back guarantee is only available when you buy the annual plan. If you get a monthly subscription, then you cannot enjoy a money-back guarantee.
StrongVPN is compatible with plenty of devices: computers, laptops, routers, smartphones, smart TVs, tablets, etc. You can download StrongVPN on Amazon Fire TV & Kindle, Android, Apple iOS & Mac, Google Chrome OS, Kodi, Linux, and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
How do I use StrongVPN?
The minimally designed user interface is bare. While the application is easy to use, you may need to get accustomed to the user experience. Two main buttons will appear on the UI. You can click on the first button to get a list of available servers. The default option is set as ‘Best Available’.
The server list does not include a lot of info. You can only see the country and city for each server, along with a picture of the flags. A ‘Favorite’ option is not available to let you organize your preferred servers. The search bar at the top of the window will let you type keywords in to find a destination.
The arrow button in the lower-left corner will refresh the list. You can press the ‘Save’ button after clicking on your preferred country and city. You will be brought back to the home screen after picking your server. The city and country will be written on the first button. You can press the ‘Connect’ button to link to the server.
The country’s flag will appear with a loading signal while the connection is established. You can tap the ‘Cancel’ button to end the process. The ‘Cancel’ icon will be replaced by the option to ‘Disconnect’. The IP address, the time elapsed, and visible location will appear at the top of the screen. The world map in the center will show you where you are connected.
You can open the settings by pressing the gear button. The first tab lets you choose your preferred language to use: English, Spanish, etc. You can enable or disable notifications in the desktop taskbar. StrongVPN is launchable when you start your PC. The kill switch button is at the bottom of the screen. You can turn the switch on and off.
The ‘Protocol’ tab lists all of the protocols that you can choose to use. Each protocol has a brief description to help you decide the best option. You can only turn one protocol at a time. The ‘Information’ tab has your account information: username and password. Additionally, you can see your OS and version ID.
