The story of Storm Boy is based on a classic children’s book of the same name. In its original version, Storm Boy was about a boy who lives on the beaches of South Australia near the mouth of the Murray River. He rescues stranded sailors and pelican chicks during a storm, and one of the chicks, later named Mr. Percival, becomes his pet and faithful companion. Mr. Percival was a real-life pelican who was cared for by Mr. Thiele, and the tale was retold in other books. In this version, the story is told in a retelling that lets you play as both Mr. Percival and Storm Boy.
