Reach From Desktop To Device With A Simple Serial Port Terminal.
Spider Serial Terminal is a command-line, ASCII app designed to let a user connect directly from their computer to a device that’s physically attached to it through its serial port. From there, they can run a variety of commands, test both the port and the device, and perform other common engineering tasks.
Connect and work
Spider Serial Terminal excels in speed and simplicity, and it sheds a lot of extraneous features in doing so. This makes it great if your job isn’t focused entirely around serial devices. It is rough around the edges, however, with poor copy-pasting across multiple lines, and an odd tendency to forget user settings, especially with text colour.
A niche right in the middle
Overall, Spider Serial Terminal is a good option if you are looking for a simple way to connect to and interact with serial devices as an engineer. It provides little guidance that would make it useful to a casual user “debugging” their own serial devices, and it provides no truly advanced features combined with a few flaw, but it still works for those middle cases.
