A VR space shooter with dragons that destroy planets

Space Dragon features five levels where you shoot at hostile planets that shoot back at you. Destroy the planets in each solar system until you meet the big boss at the star in the centre of the solar system.

A virtual reality game with so-so graphics

Space Dragon has reasonable graphics when you consider the fact it is a VR game, but one gets the feeling that the developers used their semi-retrowave/synthwave/vaporwave theme to hide the fact they couldn’t afford to skin an entire universe and make it look good on their budget. The game has very little replayablity appeal because it already becomes repetitive thanks to the bare-bones way that the gameplay has been engineered. The gameplay is not boring, as it can become quite intense and frenetic. Destroy planets that are hostile and shooting at you, and heal by taking the crystals that are released when you destroy smaller planets.

The game feels unfinished

The game does become a little repetitive, but that is partially diluted by the fact that the game is so short. Space Dragon is not a great game, but the innovative way the developers have dealt with moving may serve as a lesson to future developers. The game feels unfinished because there is so much more the developers could have done, they could have introduced power ups, more enemies, more levels, mini-warps and the ability to shoot during warps. It is not a bad game, it is just a little short and feel like it needs filling out with more complex gaming mechanics.
