Gather an army to defeat evil in Soul Nomad & the World Eaters
Soul Nomad & the World Eaters is a strategy RPG with a fantasy setting. Originally released in 2007, it tells the story of a hero fused with the power of an ancient evil being. As this hero, you must use that power sparingly in your quest to defeat the living weapons known as World Eaters.
Soul Nomad & the World Eaters was created by Japanese game developer Nippon Ichi Studios (NIS). Fans of their other strategy RPGs, such as Phantom Brave or Disgaea 2, will recognize many features. However, it differs in some respects, with a less complicated experience system than the systems found in many other NIS games.
Master your powers and assemble your forces
The story of Soul Nomad & the World Eaters focuses on your character’s quest to defeat three ancient magic weapons, the World Eaters. In order to do this, you’ll need to use the power of Gig, an evil being bonded with you. Gig can grant you tremendous power, but accepting it means running the risk of being corrupted.
Your other main source of power in Soul Nomad & the World Eaters is the team you assemble and command. With 25 unit types to choose from, you can build squads that feature a wide range of different weapons and abilities. Creating and training these units lets you avoid relying on Gig’s powers, letting you win without surrendering to evil.
A classic with some dated features
Soul Nomad & the World Eaters has less detail in its experience system than some other NIS games, but it’s also faster to play. The story, with its offer of great power and temptation, is interesting. As a port of an older console game, Soul Nomad’s graphics look a little dated by modern standards.
