Free mobile learning tool
Socratic by Google is a reference tool that aims to amplify learning among students. This free-to-use app uses AI technology to search the web for resources, explanations, and answers to students’ questions. It only requires you to speak, type in, or snap a picture of the question.
Like your web browser, the answers to your question appear on one or more pages. Moreover, it contains videos from sources, such as YouTube, and even information from Wikipedia pages. Note, however, that while Socratic by Google is helpful, you may find that not all answers it provides are useful or correct.
What is Socratic by Google?
Socratic is an app that aims to solve your long nights of answering homework. As mentioned, it answers all your questions by providing you with relevant materials. Similar to using a browser, users need only type their questions and get an instant answer. Although, on this platform, you can also speak your query. Moreover, you can use your camera and snap a picture of a typed or handwritten question.
The app only takes a few seconds before providing you an answer. To boot, it does not only give you the exact answer, it will also redirect you to corresponding Wikipedia and other pages, which will explain the answer further. This is especially beneficial if you are working on a math problem and your teacher asked you to explain how you arrived at your answer.
Unlike a typical Google search, the pages provided are narrowed to the most relevant ones. With this, you don’t need to browse different pages to get your answers. Although, as noted, not all answers it provides are correct. Its camera function also sometimes fails to capture the question. Moreover, some may argue that using the app to complete your homework or answer questions is cheating.
Is the app good?
All in all, Socratic by Google is a tool that students should have. The app can be a big help with studying, especially with your homework. It can search for answers to your questions in a matter of seconds. Not only that, but it provides you with extensive yet relevant resources. Although, it must not be relied upon completely as it is still prone to giving an incorrect answer.
