Slime Rancher 2 is a premium indie open-world life simulation video game from Monomi Park. This adventure lets you live an idyllic life in a colorful world like the titular Slime Rancher. You get to hunt, collect, raise, breed and care for slimes of different types and colors. These cute creatures produce materials called plorts, which you can sell for funds to upgrade your house and equipment.

Slime Rancher 2 is the sequel to the 2016 Slime Rancher game. The sequel improves on its predecessor in graphics and features, creating a welcome treat for franchise fans.

As a direct sequel, Slime Rancher 2 is a first-person game that puts you in the shoes of series protagonist Beatrix LeBeau who moved into the colorful world of the Far Far Range. You are still equipped with the VacPack, which is a combination of a vacuum and a backpack that can collect slimes abundant on the alien planet. Fundamentally similar to Harvest Moon: Light of Hope, this game lets you build your farmland.

As the game builds on the same factors that made the original one such a hit, this app now introduces new features. Both new and returning players could look forward to a host of new slime species, such as the aquatic angler slime and the bouncy and fluffy cotton slime. Whereas the first game has The Ranch, this new game now lets you build and upgrade your Conservatory.

For players who have encountered the end of the Glass Desert, this new game has promised new lore for you to uncover and piece together. Clues about the secrets of Rainbow Island and the rest of the Far Far Range are introduced. Of course, piecing the story together is more or less an optional quest for those hunting game achievements or who are sincerely interested in the lore.

Embark on an adventure in the prehistoric land

Slime Rancher 2 has released a new area on the coast of Ember Valley with its latest major content update, Song of the Sabers. Powderfall Bluffs is a new frozen prehistoric location. Once submerged in the Slime Sea, a glacial island has been brought to the surface. This new area is surrounded by a melting, icy mountain and will be available to explore.

Within the area, Beatrix LeBeau will discover a thriving community of Saber Slimes and Thunderluck chickens, many new crafting resources, and strange aurora lights in the sky. These auroral anomalies bear some of the characteristics of phantom-like flora. When the sun sets on Powderfall, a rainbow bridge made of aurora lights stretches across the sky, similar to Rainbow Road from the Mario Kart series, and these paths can unlock even more areas. However, you must act quickly to take advantage of it, for chances will be lost once dawn appears. Further, Slimes love to throw snowballs, so you must keep your head down when walking around here if you don’t want to get hit.

More slimes, more ranching

As a befitting sequel, Slime Rancher 2 builds on the original’s lovable aspects while adding new elements for new and returning players. Your control over Beatrix LeBeau and her VacPack will excite you to look for and collect slimes of different types. Additionally, the game promises new story elements that expand the world a lot of players have known and loved.
