A Skyrim mod for adding a visible first-person body
Skyrim – Enhanced Camera is a mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which adds a visible body when playing in a first-person view. The mod uses various techniques to give the first-person bodies a polished look and feel that could easily be mistaken as the original core game mechanic rather than a modification.
Skyrim enthusiasts made this mod, so it is a free download, though unsupported by the official game developers. Like many other first-person games, the character bodies are not visible to players throughout the game. The Enhanced Camera pack adds a first-person bodily view similar to what several other games have done, such as Mirror’s Edge.
Modifies Skyrim’s existing system
In the unmodified version of Skyrim, players can choose between first- and third-person views. In the third-person view, players can see the character’s body, but only arms are visible in the first-person view. Skyrim – Enhanced Camera creates a third-person view by blending together the character’s model and first-person arms.
No unintended side effects
The mod is designed for playability, so it will not affect other gameplay aspects. It is a purely visual and cosmetic effect add-on pack. It does not cause problems using bows or magic, which has been the case with other similar mods.
An immersive experience
At points in Skyrim, the game cuts away from the first-person perspective to show action shots more cinematically. However, this modification forces the game to remain in first-person throughout those action shots.
Well-made with some minor issues
While the mod works well, it does cause some minor visual glitches in certain situations. For example, when a player disables the “head bobbing” feature. However, these small glitches are not game-breaking.
