Free-to-use streaming app

Sky Go is a multimedia program from Sky UK Limited. The app allows you to watch cable television anywhere, anytime. As a free product for Sky users, it aims to improve their disjointed array of services, such as SkyGo! Sky Cell TV and View, into a more cohesive experience for its subscribers. Sky Go is a multi-platform software. Note, though, that some of the functions do not fit on every device.

How do I get Sky Go?

Sky Go is a platform built for Sky subscribers. It’s free to use but, what you will be able to stream relies on what your subscription package is. Guests can also access the TV streaming service by subscribing to a monthly ticket directly from the website. To access programs and channels, viewers can log in via the Sky Go website and watch the content they want to use the web browser.

Users can watch live channels that they are subscribed to. Get access to over 32 channels including day-time TV, network news, and movie channels. The app also provides video-on-demand via the Anytime+ menu. The contents can be accessed from the menu. Remember, though, that the shows here are laced with DRM because it comes with an expiry date. TV shows must be viewed within seven days, while movies are only available for 30 days.

It is also worth noting is that the desktop program of Sky Go is just an offline client. The software is nothing but a download and replay tool to arrange the ones you’ve saved. Pick and customize settings—parent keys, passwords, and registered devices—are only accessible on the platform. In comparison, the stream consistency of the material downloaded is not high enough. It’s less pixelated than the streamed networks but,  it remains sub-par, particularly when viewed in fullscreen.

TV and streaming combined

Sky has provided its customers with a solution to enjoy their Sky Go subscription on the go. With this app, viewers can enjoy live TV and on-demand programming without having to sit in front of the TV. More so, they will import material for offline viewing as well. It’s by no means ideal, with its poor video quality and limited channel range, but if you’re looking for convenience, it’s worth using this app.
