Free mobile VPN
SimontoX Max Plus PVN pro is a simple and free security and privacy app. It offers an easy way for people to protect their online activity from prying eyes. Another way you can use SimontoX is to access websites that are blocked in your country. You can launch this VPN app and join one of its many servers from across the globe. All of its servers are provided by volunteers through the VPN Hub Public Server
How does SimontoX work?
The first time you launch the app, it will proceed to guide you through its different uses and features, such as choosing the server you want to connect to and other advanced options. Once you’ve finished the tutorial, you can go ahead and use the app. Begin by choosing which location you want to connect to. This will prompt the list of countries to appear on your screen—which is only seven.
They are Argentina, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Ukraine, the United States, and Vietnam. The selection is not vast, but it will help mask your current location. Otherwise, SimontoX is not the free VPN for you if you want to expand the list of content you want to consume. Another feature of the app is the Speed Test. It will test the download and upload speed of your server in megabyte per second.
Settings options are also limited; you can only choose to turn on or off automatic switching, start on boot, and country priority. Opting to automatically switch to another server means it will select a different server in the same country if it’s running in less than optimal speeds. You can also choose to have the app automatically connect to a random server once you launch the app. Otherwise, select a country you want to prioritize.
Is SimontoX safe?
While Simonto Inc. Technology Pvt. Ltd. is the developer of the app, the app is run by a large group. The company employs third-party enterprises and other individuals to facilitate their services, provide the service, perform security-related services, and to assist them in analyzing how the VPN is being used. This is a cause for concern because other VPN providers like HMA! and ExpressVPN have a no-log policy and do not work closely with third-parties.
In addition, the app uses your cookies as a way to identify your anonymous unique identifier. It will extract the cookies that have been sent to your browser from the websites you visit. There is an option to stop cookies from being generated but websites will not generate the same content as it would if it had various sources of information.
The third-party companies are obligated to not disclose or use your information for other purposes other than improving the app’s services; however, they are unknown so there is no way of tracing if this is true. Another downside to using the app is that it does not provide information on its encryption. Typically, VPN services will mention that they use military-grade encryption like AES-256 and the number of servers they have across the globe.
