Siegecraft Commander puts you in the general’s seat
RTS wargames are hugely popular at the moment, because they combine the fun of battle mechanics with the tactical edge of games like chess. It’s very satisfying to lead a huge army to victory! Siegecraft Commander is applying this approach to the Siegecraft series, a fantasy medieval world based around attacking enemy castles. This is the perfect game for fans of tactical fantasy battles.
Lead the troops from above
Siegecraft Commander uses a top-down view, so you’re watching from above and ordering the construction of buildings on the ground. As with many RTS games, the idea is to build and improve buildings and defend them, while attacking the enemy. Balancing your needs is tricky and provides a challenge. What makes Siegecraft Commander feel a little different is that it’s heavily physics based, so battles come down to how you angle your siege weapons to make the most of their trajectories. The graphics of this game are not cutting edge, but they look good and have a distinct style. You get to build structure of various types and specialise them to your needs, in several varying worlds.
Single or multiplayer
Siegecraft Commander wisely lets you enjoy an RTS single player campaign or a turn-based multiplayer game. Though it is not reinventing the genre, this is a simple, fun game which is easy to learn.
