A snowboarding game set in a massive open-world

Shredders is a premium sports title for PC made by developer FoamPunch. It’s a snowboarding game that is set in a massive open world. It lets players perform a variety of tricks and maneuvers as they attempt to break out at a yearly event and get recognized.

Similar to Steep, Shredders offers fun and well-rounded experience to fans of the sport. Where the former focuses on extreme winter events, though, the latter takes on a grounded approach to its gameplay and presentation. This aspect also contributes to a more personal and relatable experience for players.

Shredding through the ice

In Shredders, you play as a simple snowboarder just making funny videos and generally having a great time on the ice of the Frozen Wood resort. However, you just so happen to catch the attention of a brand ambassador named Lisa. She gives you an offer to shoot a few sponsored videos for her. Thus, begins your journey into the world of professional snowboarding and all its talented riders.

An invitation has attracted a bunch of pro riders to your area, and with Lisa’s help, you might even be able to ride alongside them and learn their tricks. The game features a large unlockable open-world for you to explore, master, and practice your moves in. Each location has unique terrain and an assortment of obstacles that will test your riding skills and create a style that is totally you.

The game features a variety of gear and equipment to customize your character with. There’s also online multiplayer to shred together with your buddies. Just be aware of a couple of things. The first is that there’s no support for keyboard/mouse input, only a controller. The other is that you’ll need a relatively powerful PC to be able to play it with decent settings and performance.

One for the fans

Shredders is essentially a love letter to the classic Amped games of years past, and it did a really great job of it. Considering that there haven’t really been that many snowboarding games that came out during the last decade or so, this comes as a pleasant surprise. It offers a well-rounded and immersive experience that any fan of the sport will surely appreciate. Highly recommended.
