Free mobile FPS reminiscent of Overwatch
Shadowgun War Games is a free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter mobile game from MADFINGER games. This action game allows you to play classic FPS modes in gorgeous 3D graphics. The game belongs to the Shadowgun franchise and looks highly similar to Overwatch. Unlike the latter, however, you can experience the action straight from your phone or tablet. In this game, you have 5-vs-5 team battles composed of five unique characters who have various special abilities and roles in the battlefield. You can choose different game modes to play, which are classic PvP modes found in other multiplayer shooting games.
The war is on
Shadowgun War Games plays out mostly the same as other FPS games out but is more like Overwatch and Destiny when it comes to gameplay. There are five original characters to choose from. Slade is your typical assault unit, who can throw grenades, heal himself, and jump into the frontlines. Willow is the team sniper, who’s best at long-range combat and can set up flash mines to temporarily blind enemies.
To last longer in the arena, you can play as Revenant, the resident tank who has high health, tough skin, and the abilities to flinch opponents and go berserk for a while. If you prefer speed, there’s Jet, who can sprint for short bursts of time and can turn invisible from everyone else to escape enemies. Lastly, Sara is the perfect unit for support role enthusiasts, as she can heal teammates, set up protective barriers, and even deal AOE damage with her rocket launcher.
You can play Capture the Flag and Team Deathmatch in this. Unlike other FPS, your team will automatically recruit all five characters to balance both teams. Each character will also have their own two weapons. The controls consist of moving with the left half of the screen, aiming with the right half, the top right for weapons and reloading, and then the bottom half for the two special abilities. Shadowgun War Games is a great title to try despite its clunky controls and lack of voice or party chat.
