Securely Delete Your Data With This Trusted App

There are tons of data recovery programs out on the market because one of the most common mistakes with devices is accidentally deleting or losing files. Whether your platform is for mobile phones or desktop computers, you can download and install a recovery app in order to retrieve important files that have gone missing. However, there are also these types of programs that can permanently delete data no matter what trick you pull. You can deliberately use these programs in order to make sure that your files are irretrievable on your device for whatever reasons you may have. SDelete is one of these and is a security and privacy program for your convenience.

The Ultimate Eraser

Developed by Sysinternals, SDelete is a command-line tool and secure deletion application that allows you to overwrite a deleted file’s on-disk data to make it unrecoverable—even when you use the best of data recovery software. Since deleted files aren’t permanently gone most of the time, if you want it to be properly and legitimately away from your disk, you can use SDelete to securely delete existing files and to securely erase any file data that exists in the unallocated portions of your disk. But more than just deleting any common file away, SDelete’s best purpose lies in dealing with Windows NT/2000 or WinNT/2K’s C2-compliance in allocating file space. Called object reuse protection, this feature overwrites the empty space left by the deleted file to use it for any new files. Unfortunately, as you know, deleted files can still be recovered or peeked at, until they finally get overwritten. During that time in-between, you might be wanting to make sure that the deleted files don’t get recovered by anyone—like when you go to tech repairs for your PC. Thus, SDelete’s specialty is a great solution for this situation and even allows you to operate the command-line function to control it. You can rest easy knowing that SDelete uses the Department of Defense’s trusted algorithm in deleting data.
