Capture your screen with this versatile video app
Screencast-O-Matic is a video utility program that enables you to screencast and edit your recorded clips. It’s a multimedia software that offers various features for two subscription plans. Screen-O-Matic’s screen recorder can be downloaded and used for free. Meanwhile, you can unlock the video editor program and other features with the two premium versions. This tool also has team plans marketed for education, business, and software development use.
Take your pick
Screencast-O-Matic’s base feature is its screen recorder tool, which you can get for free. It can capture any area of your screen and you can choose whether it will be applied to your screen, your webcam, or both. The free version only has a maximum time of 15 minutes, adds watermarks, and doesn’t record your system audio. However, you can trim your videos, add captions, and publish to YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
The video editor part of the program can only be unlocked by upgrading to the paid versions. However, you can still try it with its free 30-day trial. After recording with the screen recorder tool, you can immediately start editing. You get editing features like animations, transitions, text formatting, audio editing, and multimedia imports. It even has a script tool for timed audio or video inserts and supports the green screen option.
Screen-O-Matic has two overall paid plans available: Solo and Team. Both have Deluxe—which unlocks the video editor and collaboration features—and Premier—which unlocks the two mentioned features and adds a secure backup function and the Stock Library tool. Team, however, lets you pick the maximum number of computers Screen-O-Matic will be used for. You can also customize your Team plan with options like unlimited computers, additional support, and a custom license agreement.
Not bad of an offer
All in all, Screen-O-Matic offers generously with its package of tools and its user-friendly interface. The free version doesn’t have too many limits. You can also try out the video editor for a month. You can also avail it for either personal or commercial use. However, it can be annoying to use the free version and still have to deal with a watermark despite the limited time you can record.
