A program that helps you record your on-screen activity
Screen Record Utility is a piece of screen capture software that allows you to record a video from what is happening on your screen. Sadly, it is no longer able to record content from streaming services.
A simple and adjustable screen capture program
Screen Record Utility allows you to set a record area on your computer screen and then record that part of your screen. There is currently no way to make it record sound (either from the movie/game playing or from the microphone), but you may add text, logos and a signature if you wish. Apart from the menu button that appears at the start of your recording, there is nothing intuitive about this program at all. If you do not read up on how to work it, then your menu bar will disappear and you will have no idea how to turn off the recorder.
Getting it to work to its fullest is difficult
Screen Record Utility was once a great piece of software for recording your screen and picking up the sound too, but most operating system desktops now have powerful copyright controls, which means you can no longer use this program to record streaming services or even to record yourself playing a game. Some may get the screen capture working, but most will not. A patch is needed to get around this flaw, but sadly it means you will have to write the patch yourself because there are no fixes to this problem online. The most current version may be usable under some circumstances, but you will not be able to record good/high-quality sound with it.
