SAN – GPS Based Augmented Reality Mobile Application
SAN is a free GPS-based augmented reality mobile application that allows users to view large-scale spatial virtual sculptures and architectonic objects. The application was developed by Overly SIA and launched inThe SAN project author is artist Gints Gabrāns.
SAN is a unique application that uses a completely new solution for creating GPS-based large-scale virtual structures that can be seen on a smart device as 3D objects in augmented reality. Unlike other augmented reality applications, the virtual objects in SAN have permanent GPS locations, which means they don’t need optical markers or planes to be viewed.
The SAN app list or the san.lv website provides information about the works, which can only be seen where they have been located. Users can view the virtual objects from various angles and move through them. The objects can reach up to 100 km in size and can be viewed in the real space, making the experience more immersive.
Overall, SAN is a fascinating application that can be used to explore large-scale virtual sculptures and architectonic objects in augmented reality. It’s an excellent tool for art enthusiasts and those interested in innovative technologies.
