Gripping survival adventure game for PC
Red Frost is a premium action-adventure title for PC created by developer DRAGO Entertainment. It’s a story-driven survival game that is set in a post-apocalyptic Russia, a century after a nuclear event took place, leaving a small few of its population left alive and to their own devices.
Just like with Chernobylite, Red Frost has players trying their best to fight and survive a harsh wasteland. The environment and climate will dynamically change, and it’s up to them to scavenge, gather, and craft the tools, as well as the food they’ll need to stay alive.
Man vs Environment
Red Frost takes place in a future version of Russia, during the dead of winter and after a nuclear event took place. You were ordered to launch a nuclear missile and sacrifice your life as a result. However, you mysteriously survive and wake up a few years later after the event. Stumbling upon a radio transmission, you realize you’re not the only one left alive.
Thus begins a perilous journey through a nuclear wasteland in search of answers and find out what happened. In this game, you will face a harsh and unforgiving winter climate as you contend with hunger, exhaustion, and hypothermia. Explore large open areas as you scavenge for food and gather resources for crafting. There’s even a mobile base of operations that you can discover to serve as a safe shelter.
Also, being exposed to nuclear waste and radiation, you have to be aware of the threat of corruption and undergo zombie-like mutations. It’s up to you to balance its effects and maintain control. Now, as for when you’ll be able to play it, there is no official release date yet outside of a vague 2022 target window. Keep up-to-date with news and announcements via its Steam page.
Will you survive or give in to the corruption?
Overall, Red Frost is looking to be an intense survival game to watch out for when it finally releases. It features a gripping narrative that’s paired with high-stakes gameplay elements. The ‘corruption’ mechanic is also quite intriguing and adds a horror element to the overall experience. There’s a lot to like about this title and hopefully, it comes out soon.
