A surprisingly fun physics game with a ball
Red Ball 4 is initially similar to a platform game, but as you progress, you have to solve increasingly difficult puzzles and many of them involve physics. Your character is a red ball with a very goofy smile. It is a 2D side scrolling game where you have to complete the course from left to right.
Oddly addicting and strangely fun
On the surface, Red Ball 4 looks like a silly game. The platforming side of the game is very easy because all you have to do is jump in the right place and hit your targets. However, as the game progresses, you have to use levers, bounce at the right time and use both yours and the momentum of other objects to get where you need to go. In essence, many of the puzzles are physics and timing puzzles. The graphics, the environments, the levels and even the physics in the game were obviously deeply inspired by Angry Birds. The music is as bright and colorful as the game?s backgrounds, and it pairs very well with the game?s happy atmosphere.
A far better game that it appears on the surface
Red Ball 4 looks like a very simple kiddie?s game, but if you scratch the surface, you will find a clever physics and puzzle game. If you wish to challenge yourself, then run through the game a little faster and push yourself to complete the game quickly. It is really worth trying if you can get the game for free or cheaply because it has far more going for it than the trailer lets you see.
