Adjust the water mechanics in Skyrim: Special Edition
Realistic Water Two SE is a free mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition. As with many other fan-made mods for the Skyrim and Skyrim SE RPGs, like Skyrim Flora Overhaul Mod, it aims to make the game more immersive and realistic. The mod does this by overhauling the game’s water mechanics.
The release of Skyrim SE adjusted several gaming mechanics related to the water, but the developers of the Realistic Water Two SE mod were unsatisfied with the results. Consequently, they developed this mod to adjust the game’s water mechanics even more.
A change to flowing water
The main alteration that Realistic Water Two SE makes to Skyrim Special Edition is the distinguishing flow and still water. The base game made it so that almost no two bodies of water flowed identically, while this mod makes it even more realistic by ensuring that the lakes, ponds, and marshes remain still.
Immersive effects
Although the adjustment to flowing mechanics is the mod’s main change, it also introduces a raft of effects changes for better immersion. For example, specific bodies of water, such as marshes and volcanic lakes, take on unique color schemes, while the icebergs will make appropriate cracking noises when you approach them.
More customizable
Realistic Water Two SE realizes its audience is players who enjoy customizations, so the mod packs several tools to adjust elements based on personal preference. For example, you can alter the color of the water. If desired, it’s even possible to select a completely unrealistic or outrageous color, such as hot pink.
Improved realism
Players who take the realism of games seriously will truly appreciate this mod. It fixes the Skyrim SE’s unrealistic water mechanics aspect and leaves room to customize further elements based on personal taste.
