Find your signal with ease

RCA Signal Finder is a free utility mobile app that allows you to find the best direction to aim your RCA antenna for the broadcast towers in your area. Developed by VOXX International, this easy-to-use app is great for when you don’t where the broadcast towers are where you live in. While the app’s controls aren’t hard to grasp, it actually isn’t too much of a necessary tool if you own this particular brand of antennas.

Which way do I point my RCA antenna?

RCA, or the Radio Corporation of America, is an American multinational trademark brand founded in 1919. It’s best known for products such as telephones, audio and video players, electronic accessories, televisions, appliances, computers, tablets, projectors, digital TV boxes, communication systems, and even car stereos. One of its popular products is the RCA antennas, which offers multi-directional reception and both UHF and VHF frequencies.

Using these antennas allow you to easily access the local free broadcasts and channels. However, antennas require some tweaking at times in order to grab signals from broadcast towers. Despite this brand’s multi-directional reception feature, it still helps if the antennas face the direction where a tower is. You have to figure out where the towers are, though—and this is where the RCA Signal Finder app can help.

How do I use my RCA Signal Finder?

Using RCA Signal Finder is pretty easy. Simply enter your address on the pop-up box or use your current location via your mobile device’s GPS location tracking. Take note that your ZIP code will be asked, as well. Then, pick the stations or channels you want to receive. Once the map is displayed, you have to aim your antenna in the direction of the broadcast towers shown.

Afterward, the channels you get will usually be 1080i high-definition in crystal-clear digital quality. However, other than this function, there’s not much else to the app. For one, the user interface design looks pretty bland and cheap. You can also just bypass using this app since randomly moving the antenna will more or less fix your signal strength.

Not a lot of features

Overall, RCA Signal Finder works as intended but it can feel pretty lackluster for an app meant to aid a popular antenna brand. It’s pretty straightforward to use despite its appearance—however, you might only ever need it once or twice as the antennas can easily grab signals by simply tweaking their positions. Nevertheless, if you’re struggling with RCA antennas, you can give this app a go.
