RajSSO-AMS: A Convenient Attendance Capturing App for Government Employees
RajSSO-AMS is an intuitive and user-friendly attendance capturing application designed for employees of the state government of Rajasthan. The main objective of this app is to eliminate the process of recording physical signatures on office attendance registers and instead electronically capture the attendance of employees on a daily basis.
The app, developed by DoITC GoR, is initially available only for employees of the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C) on a pilot basis. However, it will be extended to other departments of the state government in the future. To use the app, employees need to authenticate themselves through Rajasthan Single Sign On (RajSSO) using their SSOID and password. Once authenticated, the app provides options for marking attendance such as MARK-IN, MARK-OUT, OUT OF OFFICE, and ON LEAVE.
One of the best features of this app is that it captures not only the date and time but also the geo-location of the employee. This information is used to monitor the attendance of employees on a GIS map by the establishment section of the department. Furthermore, after the pilot phase, more features such as bio-metric authentication will be added to the app to make it even more useful for employees of the state government.
